it's been a long time and that's my fault

good morning media folks ☀️
Why you’re getting this: this is my personal newsletter, where I brain dump interesting things that I send to interesting people who I want to stay in touch with. There’s no pressure to stick around, you can unsubscribe if you want to (it won’t hurt my feelings).
It’s been a long time. That’s my fault. I’ve been underwater after the Parlour launch and running my advertising agency, Wittier. I’m going to get back to this more to share my insights from building my media company. Lessons learned, failures that have happened, and what’s on the horizon. Parlour is coming down to its last issue of the season. We’ve had some pretty strong accomplishments:
- Investors have reached out to put money behind us
- 1,000s of engagement across Threads and Reddit
- Traffic is up 120% since we started
- About to secure our first advertising partner
- Launched a new product mid-season
- Tried and failed on a bunch of marketing campaigns
- Received a ton of constructive feedback
With this season ending, we’re already in preparation for Season 2, our summer series. We will be approaching things much differently than we have before... and we’re extremely excited about it.
We have a trip planned to the Ozarks, a huge partnership campaign that we’re launching, a completely new website that we’re putting in production... and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
(If you haven’t subscribed to Parlour yet, you can head to our website here)
Wittier has been growing steadily. We’ve been working with more publishers than ever before.
Something interesting that my team and I have noticed, is that there hasn’t been a dip in programmatic Ad buys. While that deviates from my initial thoughts at the beginning of last year, we’ve decided to capitalize on the steady growth of that vertical.
We’re launching a programmatic Ad design service, where we plan to work with major US brands (like Nike, Macy’s, etc...) and help them design programmatic Ads that convert and just look better.
I’m sure you’ve seen all the shit ones out there that take over your screen when you’re just trying to look at an article. Well, we plan on changing that.
If you’re interested in learning more about it, you can head to the landing page here (it’s currently under development).
There are two things that I’ve been trying to get better at. Writing and Filmmaking. I highly suggest, if you want to make an impact in your business or everyday life, to get better at one of these things (specifically writing).
It can have a huge impact on how you convey yourself and can add to your bottom line.
Here are some books I recommend (I’m not affiliated with these in any way, I just love reading):
Lastly, I’m telling my story visually. Subscribe to my YouTube channel to get direct access to me:
Thanks for reading.
I will see you soon,
